Rev. Bill Terry joins the family of First United Church of Christ in Austinburg. Pastor Bill grew up in New Jersey and Connecticut. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and Andover Newton Theological School, in Newton Centre, near Boston, MA. Since his ordination in 1986, Rev Terry has served churches in New York, Illinois, and Michigan.
Rev. Terry was Pastor at St. John’s U.C.C in Port Huron, Michigan from 2002-2011. Since then, he has driven a school bus in Port Huron, and provided pulpit supply ( substitute preaching) throughout South Eastern Michigan. As a member of the First Congregational Church in Port Huron, Pastor Bill often preached and sang in the choir. He also provided visitation as a Volunteer In Ministry. Bill and his wife Ginny, have just moved to Austinburg with their beloved cat. Ginny has spent 12 years as a Case Manager at a center for women with substance abuses. Rev. Terry has a long history of Youth Ministry, Confirmation, leading Confirmation Camps, and Mission Trips. As a pastor he strives to develop church planning, mission awareness & opportunities, along with church growth -evangelism, and worship revitalization, while retaining a commitment to peace and justice. Pastor Bill is also a baseball fan, and a photographer who loves to sing, garden, and swim. |
